Aftertaste. (An original miniature from my “Flower Miniatures” series)

In this piece, I focused on the delicate remnants of tulip petals, suggesting the fleeting nature of beauty once a bloom has passed its prime. Through careful layering of markers and colored pencils, each petal’s rich burgundy hues shift subtly, capturing traces of its former vibrancy. The softly outlined shapes and gentle shadows evoke a sense of nostalgia, reflecting on what remains when the flower’s initial radiance has faded.

Set in a neutral MDF frame under glass, with a matching mat, “Aftertaste” offers a quiet pause amid more overtly colorful works. Whether displayed on its own or accompanying other miniatures, it adds depth and introspection to a space. With minimal care—shielding it from direct sunlight and high humidity—this artwork will continue to convey its thoughtful sentiment for years to come.
