This work, consisting of two sculptural objects resembling ceramic plates, explores the themes of loss and renewal. Their cracked and mended surfaces recall the traces of restoration and refer to the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken vessels acquire a new beauty through the marks of repair. From these fractures emerge delicate three-dimensional silk fringes, symbolizing the courage and spontaneity of youthful dreams that extend beyond what seems possible. Here, the image of the plate becomes a metaphor for home, comfort, and stability—lost, restored, and once again capable of nurturing the courage to dream. The work is entirely handcrafted from Excelsior silk, whose lightness and translucency reinforce the sense of fragility and transformation.
