"One Italian Evening" is landscape-impression, landscape-admiring and at the same time a collective image of the classical Italian landscape based on the paintings of masters of the past and felt by me today. The endles sserenity and pacification, which were, are and will be after us - the sensations that I wanted to express in this work.
Walk in the Borghese Park
"Walk in the Borghese Park" - a landscape inspired by the evening walkway in the Borghese Park in Rome. The contrast of the monumentality of ancient trees and the fragility and sophistication of Italian architecture makes everyone stop here and stop time. Feeling of infinity in the Eternal City.
Tired angel
"Tired angel" - this picture is about despair and hope, faith, its strength and capabilities. Are we alone in our deeply inner personal world, or does our inner voice not belong to us at all? And who, in the most incredible way, gives us a helping hand when it seems that even the guardian angel has lowered his wings? Reflection on these eternal questions is reflected in this work.
Gurzuf wakes
"Gurzuf wakes" - the view of the Gurzuf Bay from the roofs of the village in the rays of the rising sun, when the dawn reflections of the sea, sky and the glare of galvanized roofs merge into a single mother-of-pearl surface of the sea shell.
Milky Way
The Milky Way. A herd of cows grazing in a sun-drenched meadow moves leisurely from one edge of the painting to the other. The chaotically scattered spots on the bodies of the animals and the repetitive movements of the figures in a single rhythm create a bizarre ornament on a contrastingly homogeneous field. I saw this motif during one of my out-of-town walks. I was impressed by the feeling of peace and tranquility that was induced by contemplation of this long motley ribbon of animals slowly flowing across the endless field. It was as if it sheltered or embraced this land with infinite serenity.
Quiet life
"Quiet life" is an expression of my understanding of the integrity, harmony and constancy of nature in the life of the planet.
Carnelian Bay of Karadag
"Carnelian Bay of Karadag" - landscape-contemplation, landscape-impression, landscape-reflection about the ancient Karadag, where the rocks merge with the sea, the line is blurred between reality and myth, and time stops ...
Sunset of red house
"Sunset of red house" - the story of a pre-war Vitebsk house that almost didn't live to see restoration, demolished for a new road that was never built.
Cypress, Koktebel
"Cypress, Koktebel" - landscape about familiar to everyone since childhood and at the same time very personal, delightful and intimidating, deep, mirror-black sky with a diamond scattering of stars. Everyone is looking for something lost and never-returned in it.
Mother's garden
"Mother's garden" - landscape - admiring the calming rhythms of greenery in the parental garden.
To the shores of Tutaev
oil on canvas, 40x50cm
Arrival
My impression of the hypnotic rhythms of Venetian architecture dancing from the side of the water, a stylized image of the Doge's Palace.
Vitba River
A legend about the origin of the Vitba River in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk. ...Once long ago, a tribe came down from the Black Mountains. The forest was still alive then: branches-arms, little twigs-fingers. Everyone hurried forward, and only one young girl lagged behind. The surrounding seemed so mysterious that one wanted to stop and look. It was only when the forest closed around the girl in a thicket that she came to her senses. No footprints, no voices. The despair that gripped the girl pushed her forward, and the tears pouring from her eyes could hardly keep up with her. The girl was winding and circling, and after her the river was winding among the green hills...
Do not be afraid
"Do not be afraid" is my reflection on the biblical story of the creation and existence of mankind, the cyclical nature of life and the purpose of man. If the work is rolled up in a ring, the infinity sign shown here will close.
The legend of Yuriev Hill
The legend of "Yuryeva Gorka" in the Belarusian city of Vitebsk. From time immemorial, the mountain was dedicated to the pagan god Yarilo. Once a huge serpent (the symbol of the mountain), the ruler of the underworld, stole water from the people and froze it, but the spring deity Yarilo, striking the serpent with a lightning spear, freed the water. And in the place where Yarilo's spear struck the monster, a spring gushed out of the ground. Thus, the myth reflects the struggle between winter and spring. This spring still flows, and now serves as a place of worship. With the advent of Christianity, in order to turn believers away from pagan cults, a church of St. George the Victorious was built here, who is often called Yuri and Yegory. Soon, thanks to the similar feat of St. George the Victorious, the image of the ancient deity intertwined and over time was replaced by the image of a Christian saint. And a legend about Yuryeva Gorka appeared among the people.
